One of the most preferred ways of treating the threat of cancer is Chemotherapy. The Chemotherapy treatment is mixed with other types of therapies and the degree of success is different in each case. Chemotherapy medicines have negative effects and they affect the human body adversely as they are toxic in nature. Chemotherapy Toxicity generally affects the people who are elderly or people who are above or of the age of 60. It is seen that there is less side effects in the young patients who are suffering from cancer.

The symptoms like myelosuppression, cardio depression and central neurotoxicity are caused by Chemotherapy toxicity due to which the treatment of a cancer patient becomes complicated. There are many changes that a body may undergo as age creeps in like fatness, loss of protein in the body, reduction in the capacity to rebuild cells etc that aggravate the  toxic effects of chemotherapy. It’s generally the aged people who are suffering from lymphoma or solid tumors that are at the risk f from chemotherapy related complications. Anemia is one great side effect of the chemotherapy and if it is not paid heed to the effect that the medicines have on the patient may also get affected.

The immunity system of the old people generally gets reduced. Therefore in order to reduce the pain or increase the chances of recovery in the elderly people effective management of Chemotherapy toxicity along with support needs to be given. It is essential to understand the significance of the toxicity of the medicines and the activities in order to make principles for proper and safe treatment for the elderly people.

Drug efficiency and safety trials cannot be done on elderly patients of cancer because of the unconfirmed relation between Chemotherapy toxicity, age and commodities which comes in the way. There are also no proper proofs or guidelines which deal with the toxicity of medicines in aged people. But the fact is that elderly cancer patients can also be give the normal treatment just like the young patients. Chemotherapy medicines that have less toxic effects on the human body can be given to the elderly people as an alternative.

The bodies of patients suffering from Mesothelioma also get damaged due to Chemotherapy. Due to this cancer the affected cells spread and grow very fast. It is seen that after treating a person who is suffering from this disease with the chemotherapy medicines, the normal cells grow very fast as a result of the side effect. Therefore it’s better for a patient suffering from mesothelioma to be aware of the type of treatment he or she will be given. Sometimes before starting with the treatment the patient may also be asked to sign an agreement. Before going in for the treatment the patient should get from the doctor all the necessary details about the medicine that will be used, the time that is required for the treatment, the dangers that it may cause and the area where the treatment shall be given along with all the side-effects it may cause if any.

The main Chemotherapy toxicity that a person suffering from mesothelioma faces is nausea. A doctor thus can think about giving anti nausea treatment to such patients. The adverse effects of chemotherapy can be seen in the human body and the severe ness varies from one person to another.
